The American Staffordshire Terrier originated from 19th-century England, where bulldogs and terriers were crossed for strength and agility. Brought to the U.S., the breed evolved into a more robust, loyal, and people-friendly dog. Recognized by the AKC in 1936, the AmStaff is now known not for its past, but for its gentle nature, devotion, and strength of heart.
